To access self-learning and certification resources, visit the Washington State Library self-service portal login page. When certifications resume at The Seattle Public Library, sign in with your SPL Library card and PIN.

Until certifications resume, you can log in with a library card from another participating Washington library, or the Washington State Library.

About Certification Exams

Industry recognized certifications like those described below are an effective way to demonstrate your proficiency and knowledge to an employer or prospective college.

  • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) certifications validate your knowledge to help build your qualifications for IT professional roles such as IT help desk technician/analyst, end user support, network support technician, and cybersecurity analyst/technician. This certification can lead to internships and apprenticeships to launch your tech career.

  • A CompTIA certification is a popular certification that demonstrates foundational knowledge and basic skills for most IT jobs.

  • Intuit QuickBooks certifications are industry-recognized credentials that effectively validates one’s knowledge and skills in QuickBooks accounting software, bookkeeping, and personal finance.

  • Microsoft Certified Fundamentals certifications are for those interested in starting a career in artificial intelligence, data science, or cloud computing.

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications validate your tech knowledge in a Microsoft Office application. Proficiency in Office applications is a top-rated job skill across all employers and industries – MOS certification proves to employers that you have these skills.

  • The Information Technology (IT) Specialist program is a way for individuals to validate foundational IT skills. These certifications are for candidates considering or just beginning a path to a career in tech; they validate knowledge in a broad range of IT topics including AI, multiple coding languages, software development, database administration, networking and security, cloud computing, computational thinking, device management, and web development.
